Katie Meihaus

(she/her)

Katie has always loved movement, although she discovered yoga a little later in life, at a climbing gym in 2016. She began practicing regularly with Yoga to the People in Berkeley, and her practice deepened further starting in 2020, when she spent time wandering the East Bay hills and practicing in soft patches of grass. During this time, she began to experience more deeply the transformative effects of yoga and found great joy in sharing it with others. It was a few more years before she took the plunge and completed her 200-hour training with the Green Yogi in Berkeley in 2025. That time exposed her to the vast richness of all that yoga has to offer, and she is eager to continue learning and growing life-long. Katie’s alignment-focused, strong, and slow(er) flow yoga classes are inspired by her deep curiosity about the world, scientific background, and time spent with other forms of movement. She hopes to help guide students from all walks of life to a deeper awareness of their bodies and breath, on the path toward greater connection with their whole self and a sense of strength, joy, equanimity, and freedom in moving through all that this life has to offer.
