Studio Policies

At Soma Yoga & Wellness, our goal is to create a welcoming, supportive, and respectful environment where everyone can practice with ease. These policies help us provide a safe, consistent, and enjoyable experience for our community while allowing our teachers to focus on what matters most: holding a meaningful space for practice.

By attending classes or events at Soma Yoga & Wellness, you agree to the policies outlined below. Thank you for taking a moment to familiarize yourself with them before your visit.

Class Registration

  • Advance registration is highly encouraged and appreciated, as class sizes are limited.

  • Walk-ins are welcome as long as there is space for you in class.

  • All reservations and purchases can be made through our WellnessLiving booking system.

  • Please ensure your contact information is current so you receive important studio updates.

Arrival & Late Arrival

  • Doors to the studio open 15 minutes prior to class start time. Please plan to arrive 10–15 minutes before class begins, especially if it's your first visit.

  • Our classes begin promptly at their scheduled start time to create a calm, uninterrupted experience for everyone.

  • Doors are locked 10 minutes after class begins, no exceptions. If you are arriving late, please make sure you are already signed up and paid for class to ensure an easy arrival since class is already in session.

Cancellations & No-Shows

If you're unable to attend a reserved class, we kindly ask that you cancel your reservation as soon as possible so another student has the opportunity to join. To cancel your reservation, please login to your WellnessLiving account and navigate to ‘My Schedule’.

Late Cancellations

Reservations canceled within 1 hour of the scheduled class start time are considered a Late Cancel. Your class will be deducted from your class pack or membership just as if you had attended.

No-Shows

If you reserve a class but do not attend or cancel before class begins, you will be marked as a No-Show.

Your reserved class will be deducted from your class pack or membership, as your spot was held for you.

As a courtesy, each student receives one complimentary no-show fee. Your first no-show will not incur the $10 No-Show Fee; however, your class will still be deducted as though you attended.

Beginning with your second no-show, each additional no-show will result in:

  • a $10 No-Show Fee, and

  • the loss of the reserved class.

We understand that unexpected situations arise. If you experience an emergency, please contact us at 510-240-9059 as soon as you're able, and we'll do our best to help.

Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in booking restrictions at the studio.

Waitlists

If a class is full, you're welcome to join the waitlist at no cost. You will not be charged unless you're promoted into the class. When a space becomes available, students are contacted in the order they joined the waitlist. Once notified, you'll have 30 minutes to confirm your spot before it's offered to the next person on the waitlist. If you accept the available spot, you'll automatically be enrolled in the class and charged using the payment method or pricing option associated with your account. If your plans change, please remove yourself from the waitlist to allow others the opportunity to join the class.

Memberships are designed to provide the best value for students who practice regularly.

Studio Etiquette

To help maintain a peaceful environment for everyone, we ask that all students :

  • silence cell phones before entering the practice space; if you need to take a phone call please step outside

  • leave shoes in designated areas

  • enter the studio quietly, as the previous class may still be in Savasana or closing practice

  • treat teachers, staff, and fellow students with kindness and respect

  • neatly place props back in their designated areas after each use so they are ready for the next class

  • help care for our shared space

We believe yoga is for everybody and strive to cultivate an environment rooted in compassion, inclusivity, and mutual respect.

Health & Safety

Yoga is an individual practice. Please let your instructor know before class if you are:

  • pregnant

  • recovering from an injury

  • managing a medical condition

  • working with any movement limitations

Always practice within your own comfort level and consult your healthcare provider when appropriate.

Accessibility

Soma Yoga & Wellness is committed to creating an inclusive environment and welcomes students of all abilities.

If you require accommodations to participate in class, please contact us at info@somayogawellness.com before your visit so we can discuss your accommodation request and determine how we may best support your practice while maintaining a safe experience for all participants.

Accommodation requests are considered individually based on the nature of the class, the needs of the student, and the health and safety of everyone involved. In some cases, a particular class or accommodation may not be appropriate or feasible, and we will work with you to explore alternative options whenever possible.

Service Animals

Service animals trained to perform specific tasks for a person with a disability are welcome at Soma Yoga & Wellness in accordance with applicable law.

If you plan to attend class with a service animal, please contact us at info@somayogawellness.com before your visit so we can discuss any considerations related to the class environment and help ensure a safe and comfortable experience for everyone.

Children & Minors

To help maintain a safe and focused practice environment, regularly scheduled classes are intended for adults and older teens.

  • Children 13 years of age and younger are not permitted to attend regular classes unless the class is specifically designated for children or families.

  • Students 14–17 years old are welcome to attend class when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The accompanying adult must remain in class for the duration of the session and sign the studio liability waiver on the minor's behalf prior to participation.

We appreciate your understanding as we strive to provide a safe and supportive experience for all students.

Photography

From time to time, we may photograph or record classes, workshops, or community events for promotional purposes. We always strive to respect our students' privacy. If you prefer not to appear in photographs or videos, simply let a member of our staff know before class.

Personal Belongings

Please leave valuables at home whenever possible. Soma Yoga & Wellness is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings. Lost items are kept for 30 days before being donated or discarded.

Feedback & Concerns

We're committed to creating a welcoming and respectful experience for every member of our community. If you have feedback, concerns, or believe we could have handled something better, we'd love the opportunity to hear from you.

Please contact us at info@somayogawellness.com, and we'll do our best to respond promptly and thoughtfully.
